Promoting a game company and its product

The_task

Grimm is a computer game made by Spicyhorse Shanghai, a gaming company led by US-gaming icon American McGee. Grimm is a dark and humourus episode game, targeting on leisure players. For the purpose of promoting the game as well as presenting the company, Spicyhorse appointed mediaman to develop their new website.

The_approach

Grimm uses a very specific visual language, which had to be used for the website as well. mediaman's designers were challenged with translating computer game graphics into a usable web interface. As episodes change and new games are being developed, the visual and technical framework had to be flexible enough to allow updates.

The_solution

mediaman developed 2 websites in 1 framework, allowing the Spicyhorse team to manage both sites via the same administration backend. Specific eye-catching areas were defined on the company website to promote the products. The design of the microsite for Grimm is using Flash fragments and so offering a taste of the game's flavour.
